kodak moments...

it seems like lately i've had more than my fair share of kodak moments with my family, starting w/ the lizard that ran in our back door this morning. it is this fact, along with more gentle nudgings from family members that for the third--and hopefully final--time i attempt to start this blog. don't expect much and then maybe you'll be surprised!

avery holding lizard & abby was holding it in her hand, until he decided to crawl up her arm and then some! [08/23/08]

eating cantelope from our own garden (or is the cantelope eating them...) [08/18/08]

avery and micah tuckered out this past sunday afternoon (08/17/08)
AND
avery doing what she does best, climbing where she shouldn't and getting into mommy's UL stuff (oh, and playing w/ dolls of course). [08/14/08]

we have no pets, therefore they "play pony" with the next best thing...(other than daddy) [08/11/08]

your guess is as good as mine--avery just loves mommy's stuff! [08/10/08]

while in the tub that morning, the dynamic duo decided that it was big bunny's birthday (one of abby's stuffed animals). we made a cake with candles and everything! i think we lit and blew them out about 3 or 4 times just for kicks (not my kicks, the girls') he was going to be 8 years old until abby realized that meant 2 white candles, 2 blue, 2 yellow and 2 pink--we had to use the 2 green ones so big bunny ended up turning 10! [08/08/08]

big bunny's birthday was an exciting day (it really was--they anticipated the "party" all day long) these 5 pictures show the silly excitement after the party--or perhaps it was all the sugar?...[08/08/08]

i bought micah a bag of rolo's for all those late nights working at home. the little scamps found the bag, swiped a few and went and hid under the dining room table to enjoy the booty! [08/08/08]

sleeping on mom and dad's bed has become the fave thing to do this summer. abby has always begged to (esp. at bedtime) and avery has wised up when she realized she was staying in her room but her sister was not! so, since this is abby's last summer before starting school, i've gone a little soft. periodically i've let them take their nap together as long as i hear no talking! on this day, it worked! (i have to admit, earlier i was laying in between them to "help" them get to sleep) [08/04/08]

avery was the first to start the "rolo-sneaking" (are we surprised?...no) after her sunday nap and abby found it quite entertaining! [08/03/08]

in front of the silly, wiggly mirrors at the dallas children's museum [08/02/08]

eating tex-mex out for dinner at el fenix on micah's birthday [07/26/08]

nothing like waterplay on a HOT texas summer day [07/16/08]

we tried our hand at growing a few things this summer, one of which was sunflowers. you can tell which ones received more direct sunlight! it was really fun to watch them get bigger and bigger! i couldn't help but take a few pictures of the girls in their sunflower suits in front of our own sunflowers! [08/16/08]

abby received a butterfly garden for her 5th birthday from grandma and grandpa skidmore. we had so much fun watching the tiny caterpillars grow so chubby until it was time to hang upside down and form their cocoon. once they emerged we waited only a couple of days before setting them free. unfortunately for one of them (a weaker one), a nearby bird make a quick lunch out of him no sooner had he flown off abby's fingers! [07/06/08]

this is perhaps the most fun(ny?) kodak moment i've seen in awhile. abby was sad about not doing a "party" w/ her cousins.....so sophia came to comfort her. this image is so reminsent of a picture of my sister and i from many, many moons ago as children. if only i had that original picture to post! SO CUTE!! Your girls are getting so big! I especially got a kick out of big bunnies birthday. If only we could manipulate our own birthdays by a few years!

I'm still digging for that photo of us. It's got to be somewhere!

Love the pics!! thanks for sharing!

I am really, really excited that you started a blog! It's so fun seeing pictures of your girls. I can't believe how old they look. I wish we lived closer so we could get to know them better.

How cool that you grew your own cantelope and sunflowers!

Also, I like your profile picture. Very cute! Welcome to blogging!
